Affiliate Marketing: Earning Money On The Internet

I have been working on earning money on the Internet for a few years now and I must admit that although it has been a rewarding experience, I am still not the gazillionaire I would like to be.  I will be the first to admit that there are more ways to LOSE money over the Internet than there are ways to get rich on the web.

Over the years I have purchased my fair share of products that were suppose to be the next big thing only to find out that the person selling the “product”  was merely pushing something that would make them wealthy.  What I have learned over the Internet is that there are those that earn money, making it happen, and there are those that earn money by selling “stuff” to people looking to make money.  All too often the person searching for ways to make money on the Internet want to make it really fast, and that same person rashly buys into the product of a self-appointed guru.

Let me be the first to tell you that getting a web page out here is not all that difficult (I suggest you use Artisteer)  and although to some people it may seem gee-whiz techno cool…it really is a very easy thing to create.  No longer does a person have to have some massive understanding of coding or computers.  Today the entire issue of making money on the Internet simply comes down to an understanding of perseverance.  The average person turns to the Internet to replace a lost income from being laid off or from just not having enough month left to pay all the bills that are piling up.  If you are here looking to earn fast or quick cash over the Internet, let me be the first to tell you that it more than likely will not happen.

I could have easily created this site to push a product that seems like a be all, end all solution like Commission Underground, through ClickBank, but I really try to keep it real.  What I have learned is that the products keep coming along and many thousands of people (just like you) come along and plunk down their money, on the dream of hitting it rich.  It simply does not work that way and if it did…do you think that the “gurus” would be wasting their time helping you?  Heck NO!  They would be on some beach somewhere looking at the waves and the bodies clad in bathing suits! If it were really that easy to make it rich….everyone would be on the web instead of feeling like they just were bested in a game of Sorry.

Do not fret and think you can’t make money on the web, because that is not true either.  The reality of it all is that for a person to make any sort of income over the web they need to work at it, and working at it means the creation of articles, such as this one.  Making money on the Internet means that a person needs to spend time not only building the website(s), but also must spend time adding content to the sites.  Once the site is established the search engines will notice you and then, over time, more traffic is sent your way.  To make money on the Internet… traffic is the only way to earn any money.  Without traffic, a site is dead and no money is earned.

So if you are looking to make money on the Internet really fast….SORRY! That will not happen for you and you will lose your home to foreclosure, if this is your last one final hope.  That may sound harsh, but I will not lie to you and lead you further down the hole of being broke.  What I will tell you is that if you are looking for a part-time job that is inexpensive (virtually cost free) and has the POSSIBLITY to turn into a full-time job down the road, then by all means give it a shot and go for it.

With all of that being said, with my dose of hope-dashing reality…let me admit to you that you can earn some cash via the Internet, but it will take time.  I will tell you that I really like picking up my iPhone, when out with my wife, and checking out Commission Junction or ClickBank and seeing I made some money while doing something other than working.  Making money over the Internet is possible and I can say that because I do make money over the Internet.  I have just come to realize that my computer is not the ATM all the gurus say it will be.  My computer has become more of a part time job that has very little supervision and very little upkeep.  Granted I help run about 40 sites, but I still consider it fun, as I love to write.

If you Google the title of this article you will see 29,400,000 results returned and I know almost ALL of those results will tell you differently from what  I wrote here.  You need to remember that most of those results are simply written by people hoping you will buy their product.  Nothing more and nothing less.  I have taken a unique path on the Internet and that is to simply be honest and let the Universe direct my path.  I have found that path to be very rewarding and have an offer to make to you!

If you are interested in a realistic and decent income that could turn into a full time job over time, then click here.   If you are interested in making a zillion dollars by next Tuesday, then click here.

Either way, have a great day!

6 Tips For Affiliate Marketing

Today I took off from work (my day job) to stay home and meet some contractors come to my home to change out my Internet connection.  I just received a phone call from a friend at work and she told me that my bosses were very unhappy that I decided to not be at work.  What kills me about it all is that I have many sick days available, and if I do not use them…I will lose them if and when I get fired or laid off.  I hate my day job!  I hate working for small-minded people and I sure hate the fact that I have to be so politically correct all of the time, just to keep my job.  The only reason I am saying all of this is because not going to work today affords me the opportunity to stay home and work on my affiliate marketing websites.  I truly hope that one day I will be able to do little more than stay home and earn a full-time income working from right here at home, in the new computer office that my wife and I set up.  If you are thinking of staying at home to earn an income let me provide you 6 tips to affiliate marketing that might help you get started.  By adhering to the six tips of affiliate marketing I have posted below, you will at least have a grounding point to get the entire thing in motion

Do not spend any money on some program to get you “ahead” of the crowd

All too often a new affiliate marketer wannabe will receive so many offers to get the latest project from some self-proclaimed “guru” that is doing little more than trying to sell you something that will make only the “guru” a ton of money.  What you will notice is that as a new person cruises around the Internet, they will see that the amount of offers are staggering.  Often those “offers” present the buyer with little more than an illusion of money being made.  The truth of the matter is that you really do not need any bang whiz program and you sure as heck do not need some program that is designed to “get over” on a search engine.  I will be the first to concede that there are ways to get over on search engines, but the long-term reality is that you will be just spinning your wheels for nothing.

Even if you were to trick the search engines with some product, it would only be a matter of time before the search engines caught you and wiped out your Internet house of cards.  Why would you want to build anything that will eventually be caught and dissected by the search engines?  Once those search bots came through and identified you as some scam, they will shut down any and all search results faster than you might believe.  Once you are shut down…you are dead and there is no coming back.  So…the original question still stands as to why you would spend some money on some scam website creation tool, and then spend countless hours perfecting it to only have all of your efforts shut down for eternity by the very same search engines that bring you potential customers?

To do anything more than stick to the basics is really going to be a tremendous waste of time.  If you need to know the basics they are as follows and I simply refer to them as my six (6) tips to getting started in affiliate marketing

  1. Self-controlled server
  2. Self-controlled domain name
  3. Original content
  4. Update content often, with original content
  5. Patience
  6. Passion to succeed

1) Self-Controlled Server
Even if you know how to create and use your own server…why would you want to do so?  If you were to use a company like HostGator they take all the work and all the worry for about $5.00 a month!  If you want to grow, they will grow with you.  I started off at $5.00 a month ($4.95 I think?) and after a while I needed more domains and more power, so I upgraded.  That upgrade costs me only $49.95 a month and now I have almost 50 websites and I pay the fee as a very small percentage of what I earn every month.  Why not use an organization that monitors my website server “stuff” because it is simply one less thing I have to deal with.  Their customer support has some issues, but at least they are in America and they answer the phone each and every time I call them.  Overall I really like HostGator.

What I mean by self-controlled server is that you become the king of your domain. (Pun intended)  By using a service such as HostGator you can control and write whatever the heck you want.  Granted I do not test the boundaries with porn or the like, but I do not have to worry about being shut down by some hosting company that retains control of the content.  By providing my own hosting service I really do keep a much greater control of NOT being shut down because I wrote something offensive.  This tip goes hand in hand with the next tip.

2) Self-Controlled Domain Name
When you venture out onto the web your domain name, or your URL, is extremely important.  The LAST thing you ever want to do is wrap your site into a URL that contains anything more than .com, .net or .org.  If your site URL contains anything like blogspot.com or myAOL.com…it is nothing more than a rank amateur website.  Rank amatuer websites do not rank well in affiliate marketing, by search engine design.  Also, what is more important is that if you do not pay (less than 10 bucks a YEAR) to register a domain name, you do not control the domain name.  If you use a URl that is “nested” within another URL (HelpWithBlogging.blogspot.com verses HelpWithBlogging.com) you will never really own the site and could be shut down FOREVER and there is nothing you could do about it.

Why would you ever want to spend your time creating a site and have the owner of the URL decide they do not like it and then have you shut down?  By going to an organization like GoDaddy you can pay a VERY small yearly fee and control the URL and not have a fear of having it “yanked” from under you.

You should NEVER start a website that does not allow you total control.  That means web hosting (HostGator) and domain name registration. (GoDaddy)  To do anything less is foolish and short-sighted.  Also you need to know that changing over domain URL’s drags your search engine rankings back to zero for the long haul.  If you change one simple letter in a web-page URL, it is back to zero for the search engines.  You need to understand right from the start that search engine algorithms are ruthless in their objectivity and you need to start off correctly.  To start correctly you need your own web hosting service and you need to register your own domain name.  To do all of this will cost you less than $20.00 to get started, and less than $5.00 a month…so why not do it right?

3) Original Content
Original content is king on the web!!!  Think about it for a moment.  A good affiliate marketer will get the bulk (if not all) of their sales from search engine referrals.  What that means is that the search engines will rank you if you are a good match for the information someone seeks.  You will receive the gift of being ranked on the results presented to the users of the search engines.  By writing articles about a specific subject, that are valid, true and correctly presented, the search engines are given what they seek.  Remember that the search engines are trying to please their customers and to please them they need to provide their searchers with the desired content they seek.  If you, the webmaster, are providing the Internet with relevant answers to the questions being asked, you fill the need of the search engines to remain relevant to the person seeking the information.

Original content needs to be what you wrote and be the first time on the web.  If you were to passionately approach a website with the idea to write one individual article for each and every aspect of a commissionable product, you will receive search engine rankings and “hits” from people looking for the information.  Those “hits” will become money in your bank account, which is what it is all about.

4) Update Often With Original Content
A blog, or a website that does not get updated at least a couple of times a week is a dead or slowly dying site that search engines start to disregard.  For you to get to the top of the rankings you will need to write articles that answer pointed questions and do so on a fairly frequent time-table.  At the same time you do not want to post articles too quickly and I would refrain from too much too fast.  Search engines look for slow, normal and sustained growth.  Too much too fast is worse than too little.  Search engines are looking for long-term sustained growth.  This leads us to our next topic, which is patience.

5) Patience
Building a successful site requires patience.  As stated above, it takes some time to grow and to earn any income.  The hardest part is at the very start.  Simply because of website propagation.  Most Internet newcomers do not realize that when a new site is created that it will take hours or even days before it can ever even exist on the Internet.  To disillusion you even more, it may take months before the search engines ever even pay any attention to you.  The reality is that you may write articles and post them for 3 to 6 months before you ever get your first visitor!  The sad truth is that most people who make a go of the Internet affiliate marketing give up before they allow the magic to happen.

Growing a profitable affiliate website, or blog, is not going to happen overnight and it will not be what saves your home from proceeding with an impending foreclosure.  The reality is that a person can make a tremendous amount of money, but it will take time to foster and nurture the growth of a website that search engines respect and trust enough to send visitors your way on a daily basis.  I recommend that you try what I say for at least 6 months and then start thinking about making any sort of profit worth mentioning.

6) A Passion To Succeed
Having a passion to succeed is where I will end this, which is essentially where I started the article.  My passion to succeed is deep-rooted in my desire to get the heck out of my day (big-box) retail job.  I Currently earn enough of an income to allow my wonderful wife to remain at home, but it was not always that way.  This goes back to my point about slow and steady growth because it is our dream to do nothing more than stay at home and earn an income by doing work on sites just like this one.  My passion has been to create websites that provide relevant information for people who seek that information. This site and specifically, this article, is proof that the plan is working.  You are here reading this and that was my desire.  By providing you, the seeker, with relevant information, the search engines reciprocated with presenting you with my website.  Presenting you with my website was the goal right from the start of creating this site.

The relevant and original content of 6 tips to start an affiliate marketing website must have worked…because you are here!  Sign up for the RSS feed at the bottom and stay posted because I will never lead you in a direction that will deceive you.  It is my goal to provide nothing but relevant information that works.  It is my goal to simply help you with blogging!

Blogging For Money In a Down Economy

I will be the first to tell you that I am not some super-rich affiliate marketing type out here in cyber-space earning so much money I can show you photographs of fancy houses and cars…because that is not the truth.  What I will tell you is that I have created enough sites out here on the web to be able to allow my wife to stay at home and still be able to make a substantial dent in our 15 year mortgage.  We still both work at the Internet thing for a few hours every week and me writing this article is an example of the work that I do.  I am off from my day job today, after 13 days straight and if it were not for the income we earn via Internet affiliate marketing, I do not know where we would be now, or how we would even get through the month.

I would love to quit the day job right now and do this full time, but the income is not steady.  One month the income has been thousands and the next month it would be less.  Granted the amount of money may not impress some of you reading this, but the truth is that the money I (we) earn is worth more in mental health than anyone could realize.  What I mean by this is that if it were not for the income earned on the Internet I do not know if I could stay sane in my present job status.  What I mean is that if I had no alternative source of income, and was totally dependant on my current job in retail, I would be totally demoralized.

I live in the constant fear that my job is going to be gone one day and that I will go to work one day and learn my position no longer exists.  I currently work with individuals today that were “layed off” (don’t we really mean fired?) and then re-hired with less pay and less benefits.  That really scares me silly to think if it were not for this little “thing” I have going on the Internet, I would be in the same situation as the rest of the people at my store.  If it were not for the money I earned in Affiliate marketing, I would have no ability to day dream of my one day escaping to a life without bosses.  If it were not for affiliate marketing and the income I earned out here…I too would be a slave to the time clock for the rest of my life also.  With the Internet income I am planning an escape route that would not be available to me, unless I won the lottery.

With continuous effort Sue (wife) and I are dreaming big, and one day that dream will manifest itself into a life style that most only dream about.  That future manifests itself in our checking account each and every month.  That manifestation comes in the form of cash and that cash appears like magic.  We sell nothing, we ship nothing, we have no customers and we have no employees.  Like I said…it appears like magic, but I am just happy it is there!

If you feel trapped in your current financial life, then you should check into earning some money on the Internet through affiliate marketing. If you do not know what affiliate marketing is, then you should learn.  What have you to lose?  Your J-O-B still awaits you (maybe?) and the total start up costs to earn money is less than $20.00.  All you need is a website domain name, a server service and Artisteer to easily build your site.  You do not even need to know computer code.

The only thing holding you back really is you, if you can afford $20.00 today and $5.00 a month!  If I could do it…anyone could do it, so why not you?

Affiliate Marketing, Website Creation and The Law of Attraction

I am writing this brief entry about affiliate marketing because as I sit here my wife, Sue, is listening to Bob Doyle and a recording about The Law of Attraction.  As Sue and I began to listen to the recording I had no intention on working on this website this morning.  We manage and run numerous websites on a non-professional level as I still work in a retail job, with the hopes of one day mastering not only affiliate marketing, but also the Law of Attraction.  The interesting thing I hope to point out here is not what I have heard on the recording Bob Doyle made, but what I have read, and absorbed, from Wallace D. Wattles.  I consider Wattles to be the father of The Law of Attraction and what he wrote strongly urges the reader to take action.  Although this is a self-help affiliate marketing website, we are not here to discuss The Law of Attraction from the spiritual level, we are here to help you realize what Wattles teaches.  What Wattles teaches about The Law of Attraction is that a person needs to take action to achieve results.  This article is the true story of how I was able to go from just the thought of making money on the Internet to actually making some money on the Internet.

Not many people read what I write on this site because it is a minor blog on the web that has the potential to help those few individuals seeking Internet growth to earn money through affiliate marketing.  The difficult task here is that I need to convince you, the reader that I am not just here to sell you something, at the expense of you spending your money.  The goal of this article, and this site, is to create a place that will channel the energy of the universe to guide those that seek information on how to use The Law of Attraction to guide them down the path of successfully earning an income on the web.  It is my goal to send this article out into the void with little regard to SEO and let the power of the universe guide the path.  Since you have landed on this page and have made it this far into the article…I will assume that you have a burning desire to earn an income in affiliate marketing and also a believer in the SCIENCE of The Law of Attraction.  I suspect you are acquainted with The Law of Attraction, but not with Wallace D. Wattles?  Let me just tell you that you NEED to read and absorb the trilogy of Wallace D. Wattles, which is the grand daddy of The law of Attraction.

As I sit here with this inspiration to generate this article about The Law of Attraction and affiliate marketing, I want to stress to you that for this to work you need to understand the statement that it is my goal to help you benefit from reading this.  If there is no benefit offered from this end, then there will be no success on this end, or on your end.  For me to be successful in affiliate marketing I have to be able to offer you a product that will be of benefit to you, the reader.  Since I can only offer what I know, I offer you my story.  My story is how I went from knowing nothing about affiliate marketing to earning a few thousand dollars every month.  I currently feel as if I am on the cusp of a major breakthrough and soon I will be able to walk away from my full-time day job.  This is my story of how I have been able to apply The Law of Attraction to affiliate marketing.  I am not here to discuss spiritual stuff, just the simple mechanics that Wattles demands any financial success be accompanied by for any endeavor to succeed.

When I first started my quest to affiliate marketing I knew nothing of what worked and I was new to The Law of Attraction.  What I soon learned was that I was not a computer guru.  I mean I was able to do the basics but I knew nothing about HTML code.  Yet, here I am and more importantly…here you are reading this article and I, the creator still know nothing about coding.  The thing I want you to take away from this post is that there is a product that helped me build websites and launch those websites and those sites really look great.  The product that springboarded me onto the web was Artisteer.  Without Artisteer I would never have been able to create a site on the web that could earn me an income.

I could get into other aspects of what it took to get on the web, but for this post I want to stress that for me to have made the small successes I have had on the web, I could not have done so without the simple to use, and inexpensive website creation program called Artisteer.  Because I read about Law of Attraction and understood that to be a success (in anything) I needed to put in the effort.  Through my two years of struggling I realized there was no need to struggle with my passion to be on the web.  Once I started to make the effort, which never worked out, the universe opened up my desire by allowing me to stumble upon Artisteer.  Because of The Law of Attraction and my desire to be a success in Affiliate marketing, I found Artisteer which opened up the Internet to be receptive to my goals.  Since I have had success I have decided to continue that success by enlightening you, the reader about what you need to get started on your Internet goals.

You are here because you are seeking a path out of your current situation, whatever that may be.  I am here because I am an affiliate marketer with a passion to create articles, such as this one.  If you are seeking information about how to build a website, I am here to tell you about Artisteer. Sure, the non-believer will tell you it is all a scam, but with all that being said…there you sit, reading the article that you wished you wrote!  You are here and I am here because the universe answered the call of vibration that we have both set forth into the universe.  I am here to tell you that if you are seeking an easy way to get a website out on the Internet and have little to no technical knowledge, then the destination of your quest is Artisteer.

To sum it all up I just want to tell you that if you are seeking a way to earn money on the web through affiliate marketing while channeling The Law of Attraction, then you landed here because the universe deemed it so.  Because of this encounter you we both will benefit from the encounter.  As Wattles said…

“Be sure of this, and convey assurance of the
fact to every man, woman, and child with whom you come in contact. No matter how
small the transaction, even if it be only the selling of a stick of candy to a
little child, put into it the thought of increase, and make sure that the
customer is impressed with the thought.”

What I hope you realize is that you asked for the universe to provide you a way to create a website.  Whatever your goal for that site be may only be known to you, but the desire and the request to build a website has been launched into the universe.  I am here on this website to help people create self-standing websites on The Internet.  You and I are both here and the universe has provided you with the answer that is Artisteer.  You may still doubt it all but since Artisteer has a FREE offere, there is no reason to even question the situation.  The only question is whether or not you hold the faith to know the answer to your question has been found.

I know the Law of Attraction works in Affiliate marketing because the statistics of this website have already recorded your visit for my future review.  The Law of Attraction has once again proven that it works because you found the answer to your question through what is a FREE offer that allows you to trust what you have found.  The Law of Attraction, affiliate marketing and building websites…who would have thought?

The Teachings Of Wattles D. Wattles

Blogging For Money

Blogging for money is something I have done for about 5 years now and although I have not made the millions I had hoped for, I have started to generate a small stream of money that has allowed my wife to remain home, despite the rotten economy.  I have been earning about three thousand a dollars a month on the various websites I now maintain (35 or so) with the income coming from Amazon, Commission Junction, AdSense, MoreNiche, Linkshare and other companies.  Blogging for money is really not that hard, once you get the infrastructure in place.

What I mean by infrastructure is that you will need to core elements.  To earn money blogging the core elements will be the hosting company, website creation tool (program used to make your websites) and the domain names you use, registered as your own.   Also, it goes without saying that you will need a computer that has access to the Internet.

Obviously, the Internet is where your audience will come from and this is where the money will be coming from, that appears via direct deposit, in your bank account.  For my hosting service I have used HostGator, which has been fairly decent for customer service.  Although lately I was not very happy with the service I received when I had to switch over to a larger server. (Click Here For That Article)  Despite my recent history I must confess I still use HostGator because my sites are up and they have an overall decent track record.  I have flirted with the idea of switching over to LunarPages.com, but at this point, for me, it may be more trouble than it is worth.  To a new-comer, it may not be a bad idea.  If anyone has any comments about either companies, I would appreciate hearing from you below.

I want to say right here and right now that I enjoy writing and building websites, but I never got into writing the code needed to build websites.  I never had the patience for the HTML thing or any other program writing at all.  I took a very basic course one time at St. John’s University in Jamaica, New York, but that just reinforced my opinion of how much I hated writing code.  My real enjoyment out here in cyber-space is adding my original content articles (like this one) on subjects that can make me money.  So, that is why I am here because I want to show you that blogging for money is really not that difficult to do, once you have your infrastructure in place.

My real breakthrough with building websites was when I discovered Artisteer, which is my choice of website creation I have easily mastered.  This site is a WordPress site that I have gone in an “stripped” all references out of the code that would indicate this was a WordPress site at all.  I stated earlier that I hated to work in code, but that did not mean I am clueless.  I love Artisteer because I can take the VERY limited code knowledge I have and churn out websites that look clean, professional and most importantly….earn me money.

There I said it!  I am not out here blogging to be noble.  I am not out here on this Sunday night, before bed, writing this article because I hope to spread good karma!  I am here to show YOU how to make money and by doing that, I get to make money.  I think I spent the first three years churning out shit websites that sold bullshit products that were a scam, and you would have to have been a fool to buy the product on the page.  Over time I learned that the best way to earn money by blogging was to write about what you enjoy and enjoy what you write about!

That may seem silly, but it is the most sincere thing I could say.  I write about Artisteer because the program is simple to use and that simplicity is what allowed me to earn money on the Internet.  It may have taken me a couple of three years to get all this shit together, but now that I have assembled my infrastructure, I am earning an income that is far from being a millionaire, but close enough to pay for some of the finer things I used to have to go without.  Blogging for money is something that allows me to sit here in my shorts, listening to U2 and typing this article.  All the while, I am making money!  Now how cool is that?

The short of it all is that I have other affiliate sights that pay me a more than fair wage and this site is just for giggles and grins.  I like to write and if anyone ever reads this, the entire thing has been made possible to me through the website creation program known as Artisteer.  I use it because it is simple.  I use it because it is a quick study that is beyond simple.  I use Artisteer because the program offers you the possibility of LIMITLESS potential.  You can tweak, twist and churn out different sites that look and feel professional, without ever knowing anything about code.

If you want to make some websites and earn some money and hate to mess with code, then you are like me.  If you want to make some money over the web, do not think that it will happen fast and your car won’t get re-possessed next week.  Making money on the web is a process that takes time, determination and an infrastructure like I have mentioned above.  If you are looking to earn some money on the web, then check out Artisteer because the simplicity is what will set you free.

Speaking of FREE, the cool thing about Artisteer is that you can go to their website and download the program for FREE and use it till you either want to publish your site, or you want to give up and just spend the rest of your life working in your dreary little job day in and day out.  After you download the FREE Artisteer, you play with it and when you KNOW you want to keep the program, you then pay for it.  Only after you know you like it, do you ever have to pay for the thing!

The last thing you will need is you will need to get yourself domain names, and a good a place as any is GoDaddy.  I like to use HostGator and GoDaddy and Artisteer.  Doing it that way keeps all three separate and no single entity can shut me down for good.  I own all of the stuff and by keeping things separate and backed up…I keep the power of ownership under my control.  That ownership and control means that no one person, or one corporation, could ever just shut me down.

As you can see I am all about the money and if you do not think that is nobel enough for you, I don’t care!  I wrote what I wrote because it is what worked for me and I have learned that writing from the heart about what works, is all I need to do to earn money blogging.  What do you like?  What do you enjoy?  Answer that and then make it come alive out here in cyber space and watch your bank account grow.  If you don’t want to make money blogging, then just go back to work.  This article will be here for the next 10,000 people to read and someone in that group will see the potential and grab hold.  They too will make it work and they too can see money “magically” show up in their bank account too!

Well, I am off to sleep!  If you have any questions you can simply leave a valid comment. I should get around to answering within a week or so.
