Hostgator Review

To do this Hostgator review I need to give you some background on me.  Why I say this is because I am as a non-computer type of person as God could create.  I have feared the use of my own server space for so long, I am ashamed to admit.  I tried a few other hosting services through the years with the first one taking our money and when they shut their doors, took my entire two years of website work with them.  After almost two years, I literally had nothing to show for the time spent.  Search Engine rankings were gone, as well as everything else I had worked on.

Being clueless I had no backup and I sure as heck did not have a fine organization like I have now with Hostgator.  When I first signed on with them I was happy that the people that answered the phone were in America and they spoke English.  I am not a prejudice person, but I feel as if I have the right to spend my money where ever I want and I have no desire to use a server company in another country and I sure as heck do not want to struggle trying to understand what the person on the other end of the phone is saying.  Hostgator is right there where they need to be for me, which is in the United States.

I have had two problems with Hostgator during the past three years.  The first problem was when my sites were not coming up and I made one phone call and it was fixed in less that 10 minutes.  The second problem I had was when someone took control of one of my blogs and before I was off the phone the problem was corrected.  In both cases I turned and looked at my spouse with utter amazement. I felt as if I had an I.T. Department all my own.  Hostgator was totally helpful and were not the least bit aggressive about my low level of understanding.  Those experiences won me over as a customer and I give them a double thumbs up.

What I really like about using HostGator is the level of freedom and independence I truly have with my blogs and my one website. I no longer have to adhere to the rules of what the hosting organization permits.  When I used to use a FREE hosting blog site, it really did not hit the spot.   If I was inactive for too long, they shut me down.  If I wrote something they did not agree with, they would just shut me down.  The words you are reading now are fresh out of the HostGator server and they really just leave me alone , as long as I pay my bill that is!

Speaking of paying my bill, the price for HostGator is beyond cheap.  I pay over $250.00 a month for my cell phone and I pay less than $10.00 a month to host agazillion websites (okay it is not that many, but it is alot and it is unlimited).  Using the baby gator plan I can have as many sites as I can pump out for less that $10.00 a month.  Now that is a bargain considering the support you receive from HostGator customer service.

To sum it all up, HostGator is well worth the cash to use.  When you register your domain name from GoDaddy and you use Artisteer for the template and then launch it via Hostgator, you have created a platform that makes you impervious to destruction by some corporate hack.  The splitting of the three (hosting, design and registration) provides you, the webmaster, the strength of having total control of your cyber world.  By splitting up the creation process no one “leg” of your world is controlled and dominated by one source.  If by some small chance one leg broke off, your realm would not be crippled.  The two remaining legs of your cyber domain would still stand and support the load long enough until the wounded portion could have damage control.

Hostgator is awesome and needs to be part of your line of cyber creation with a built in defense plan.  It really does make sense doesn’t it?
